The Grigri is probably a very classic tool to every freeclimber. The self-braking system is the last component in the 5:1 base pulley - the heart of every pulley slackline tightening system. The Grigri allows fast rope transfer in the tightening direction and stops the rope in the opposite direction. The 3:1 multiplier is build-up around the Grigri. The mounted lever allows easy loosening of the slackline while derigging. The Grigri is usefull in lightweight rope pulley system or in a highline rescue kit (ground rapel style).
